Jasmine and Erich’s story could easily come right out of a Silhouette romance novel. This is one of their engagement pictures and I knew as soon as I saw it that it would be perfect for our Travel the World in Words segment for the Petit Fours and Hot Tamales blog. Not only does it have that familiar feel where it could be from any part of the world, but it also has the romantic feel that most of us at PF&HTs write about. But what is “their” story? I did promise to tell it, didn’t I?

From a blind date to a Leo at the base of the Eiffel tower. Talk about romantic.

Erich is one of those guys that have hero quality written all over him. Not only is he a cutie, but he is one of the nicest guys a girl could ever meet. The moment he asked my (very bored) son to play chess with him during a dinner party, I knew he was a keeper (for Jasmine, honest…grin…. I have my own hero). Aside from that, he’s athletic, smart, and has the quirkiest sense of humor.

Jasmine is a true heroine that any girl could relate to. She had an extremely heart wrenching childhood, but grew into the most levelheaded twenty-something ever. Yet Jasmine is not the type to blend into the woodwork. She’s a fashionista who cares about everything and everyone. She’s brilliant, funny, and the best “phone-a-friend” a person could ever have for anything that could come up in life.

I challenge everyone at Petit Fours and Hot Tamales blog to tell their story ideas in five sentences or less, so I’ll give the “real” story my very best with these limitations.

A blind date that didn’t go so great turned into a second date where the two had to be coerced to even show up. As friendship and love blossomed, they began planning a fun trip to Europe. Erich started planning the perfect proposal, but anything and everything that could go wrong, did. “Wrong size, no Leo inscription, wrong Leo inscription, and Erich was not able to hold the final product that would later rest comfortably on Jasmine’s left hand till less than two hours before they were to leave.” Eventually, it all came together at the base of the Eiffel tower and Jasmine said YES!
