Anyone see the movie yet? On Saturday I went to see it with The Kid, my friend and her son. Of the four of us, I was the only one who had not read the Hunger Game’s series.
I can honestly say that I will alleviate that problem ASAP.
If you haven’t guessed already, I’ll tell you that I LOVED this movie!!! From the very cool fictional town (I read somewhere that this was an amazing adaptation of a sci-fi town that more than one blogger would love to live in), to the awesome costume. Abby over at
the Fierce Romance blog has a great post where she gets a tour of the little town where District 12 was filmed. Take a moment to check out the pictures.
There were two things The Kid was disappointed in. One was the fact that the movie didn’t explain the background on why the kids participate in the Hunger Games as well as the book does. The other issue he had with the movie was during the grand finale in the games. I won’t give any spoilers, but he said the book was wayyyyy better with that scene. Other than those two things, he loved it. In fact, all three of my movie buddies said it was very well done and that it stayed right with the book.
Which leads me to the fact that I had not intended to read the series until the end of April. After this weekend, that isn’t going to happen. There is no way I can wait that long. To be perfectly honest, if I had been able to find the first book packed away in the storage room (that is stacked to the ceiling – will totally explain that in future posts), I would have already been reading it.
How about you guys? Anyone else watch the movie without having read the books? Or am I the only one?
Now if you will excuse me, I need to start digging through some boxes. I’m going to find that book today!!!

I haven’t read the books or seen the movie. But I hear such good things about both.
I haven’t seen the movie nor read the books. I am definitely gonna start but what do you suggest movie or book
Carol! I totally say at least watch the movie. I think it is well worth it.
Rupertt, I’m going to say go ahead and watch the movie. You can determine if you want to read the books from that. I thought it was awesome enough and left me with enough questions that I have to grab the books now. But you may be satisfied with just the movie.
Hope that helps. 🙂
