This weekend was AWESOME!!! I attended a GRW meeting/workshop featuring Deb Dixon. Friday night we watched Ladyhawk and The Family Stone as we prepared for her wonderful workshop on Saturday. What an eye opening experience. Goal, Motivation and Conflict was never so easily explained to me… I can’t wait to jump into my YA WIP… See my post on Sunday over at Petit Fours and Hot Tamales blog for more said about this workshop…
Life – Our car is still in the questionable stages of trying to decide if they will or will not total it. The body shop measured the frame and both sides are bent. When we asked a car dealer about this, they said to knock another $3,000 off the trade-in value. Which drops us down almost $11,000. That is not a good thing, especially since this is a new car. Happy graduation, honey… What was supposed to be my DH’s congratulation for graduating college in 3 years (while working a full-time job, remodeling three different houses and having two heart surgeries) has turned into a true “pain in the neck.” Which, the pain in his neck is really irritating him as well. Grrrrr…
School – I’m speeding downhill this month, school wise. Finals are sneaking up on me and I’m being bombarded with end of semester tests and then preparing to turn around and take the finals. I seem to have more finals than ever before this semester. Not sure why that is except that I am taking some senior level classes. Maybe they think we (seniors) are more mature than the other students. Who knows…
In an attempt to end on a lighter note, check out some of the fun blogs I’ve been looking at this week…
Soapbox Queens – On 4-15, Queen Jennifer (LeBrecque) blogged about creating and using rituals when you write. Too, too funny!!! Jen is always good for a laugh (and I LOVE her books!!!).
Blaze Authors – Want a good laugh? Check out Stephanie Bond’s hilarious post on 4-13 about a conversation with the IRS and some of the items she writes off in the name of fiction… (I’m still cracking up about that one!!!) Stay there and read the very inspiring post by Julie Miller. I love her take on life.
Book Ends LLC – On 4-14, Jessica has a Q&A post that I found VERY interesting…
Wet Noodle Posse – On 4-14, Mo H did a neat post on the Top 10 Tips for Spring Cleaning. I especially liked Tip #10!!!
Romance Writer’s Revenge – 4-13, Hal addressed the age old question of dealing with the condom issue in our writing. I so loved this post… While you are there, check out my fellow PFandHT blogger, JP Stone on 4-16 about getting out of the slump. I can totally see JP buying a Llama… JP Stone is also our blogger for today over at Petit Fours and Hot Tamales… Maybe she’ll fill us in on that Llama project…grin…
Camy’s Loft – Camy did a neat thing and featured fellow author, Sara Mills. Sara recently lost her husband and her friends and fellow authors are doing a push to promote her books in an attempt to help her out financially. I hadn’t heard about Sara but her Casablanca and The Maltese Falcon inspired her 1940’s Dick Tracy type heroine. Talk about an out of the box idea…
And last but certainly not least, Petit Fours and Hot Tamales – Last Friday, we had the fabulous Natasha Moore guest blogging for us. Tomorrow we have Julia London. All week, our wonderful bloggers have been giving their opinions on bounding into Spring. You really don’t want to miss any of these posts!!!
That’s me for this week. I’m exhausted and my brain hurts. But I have way too many tests to shut down now… Have a great week to all of you!!!
