What have I read?
I’ve been super busy these past couple of weeks so I haven’t had much time to read. BUT I did read a couple of very good books that I can’t wait to share with you.
Kristen Lamb has an awesome book out called, We Are Not Alone: The Writer’s Guide to Social Media. I have literally been engrossed in this book. I’m frustrated that I bought it on Kindle because this is definitely one book I would like to mark up and post with quick reference tabs (will be buying the hardcover soon). If you are a writer (either pubbed or unpubbed) this books is definitely for you. I’ve read tons of marketing books but none have ever been able to help me as a writer promote myself. We Are Not Alone: The Writer’s Guide to Social Media is geared directly to you as a writer. Kristen’s suggestions are backed up by the info she posts in her Warrior Writers Blog.
This book is for anyone who is excited and ready to plunge into social media, as well as those who are not so excited and wondering why they need to even bother. Great, great book! (I also just bought her Are You There Blog? It’s Me, Writer book. I can’t wait to jump into this one!
I just finished reading Leslie Tentler’s Midnight Caller book. O.M.G!!! Very good book and one that was very hard to put down. Leslie did a great job of throwing me off of who the bad guy was right up until the very end when he was revealed. Although this isn’t really a paranormal story, it does make you wonder if there might be vampires out there… (you have to read the book to understand this statement…;-) ) Seriously, if you are looking for a page turner that will keep you up at night, Midnight Caller is for you! Great job Leslie Tentler!!!
What am I reading?
Just started reading When You Dare by Lori Foster. This is another edge of your seat kind of book where the hero rescues the heroine from a white slavery ring. Very intense but also very sexy (I love Lori Foster for that). Can’t wait to sit down and read more.
Also reading Stephanie Bond’s Baby Drive South. I’m really excited to read this neat new trilogy about a trio of brothers who return to rebuild their home town after it was destroyed by a tornado. All is going well until their crew gets fed up with the lack of women in town. The brothers then embark on a campaign to recruit some women to appease their mutinous crew. Very Seven Brides for Seven Brothers ish with a modern twist. Can’t wait to start this series. Check out the free short story download, Baby I’m Yours. This is the story where the actual tornado happened. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this short story.
That’s me. What are you reading???

You’ve got some great recommendations here, Tami. HOW DO YOU FIND SO MUCH TIME TO READ? Love Kristen Lamb’s book and am moving Midnight Caller to the top of my TBR pile; it’s all anyone talks about. I am reading The Well-Fed Writer (Peter Bowerman) and A Garden in the Rain (Lynn Kurland. Thanks for sharing all your finds with us!
Hey Pam! Reading is definitely my downtime. I read very fast but if I find something that really grabs me, I end up slowing down to savor each word. When that happens, I usually can’t put the book down and end up staying up all night reading….. Not good for the day job…
I’ll definitely have to check out those books. Had not heard of either of them.
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!

I’m doing a re-read of The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery.
Hi Rosie! Had not heard of that one. I just looked it up on Amazon and it does sound like a good book. Have added it to my wish list.
Thanks for stopping by!
