Blast From the Past – May 18, 2008 – Update on ME!!!

I remember this storm.  Still today the college campus doesn’t look as pretty as it did with the towering trees. There are a few business that have never repaired their signs.  It is one of the first big storms that my son remembers vividly.

I wanted to give you an update on what’s been going on with me the past week. After a night of par­ty­ing (DH’s BBQ for grad­u­a­tion –grin-), we were hit Sun­day morn­ing by a series of tor­na­does. I guess you could say that Mother’s Day started off with a bang in Mid­dle Georgia.

Thank­fully, we did not get hit directly. But a few of our friends (some from the BBQ the day before) and the col­lege I attend was hit pretty hard. Above are some pic­tures of the trees dam­aged on my col­lege cam­pus. School was closed that Mon­day, but we were all back on Tues­day ready to con­tinue with the sec­ond week of a three week con­densed semester.

Amidst all of that, we received an offer on our house. Yay!!!! Big cheer for that. So, I’m cur­rently buried in boxes. We’ll be rent­ing through the sum­mer as we search for more per­ma­nent digs closer to work and school. Hope­fully the extra money we’ll spend on the new house will save us in gas costs later on. I’m sure most of you can relate to that…
