Sadly, I’ve been remiss in acknowledging some really cool blogging awards I have received lately.
Terrible of me, I know. Sorry ladies.
Back in June, Deirdra Eden awarded me with the Best of Romance Blog Award. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was. Not only is this a cool title (what’s not to love… ;)) but Deirdra is the artist and she did an amazing job with this illustration. If you get a chance, definitely check out Deirdra’s site. She’s an author and illustrator and doing a wonderful job of sharing the wealth.
Thank you Deirdra!!!
The Sunshine Award is awarded to bloggers whose positivity and creativity inspires others in the blogosphere. I am over the moon that she thought of me.
Here are the rules for accepting this award:
- Link back to the person who gave me the award.
- Answer the following questions.
- Nominate ten bloggers for the award.
- Link my nominees to the post and let them know about the award.
Because I am such a slacker and so late in answering the award, I’m going to jump straight to the questions.
What is your favorite Christmas/festive movie?
Hands down, The Holiday with Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and Jack Black (Yes, Jack Black is one of the heroes… Imagine that…)
What is your favorite flower?
This really depends on the time of year and what is happening at that point. I recently received a very pretty purple Orchid for my birthday. So this happens to be my current favorite. If I can only keep it alive…
What is your favorite non-alcoholic beverage?
A nice HOT Carmel Macchiato. Awesome, awesome fall drink… or anytime of the year… 🙂
What is your passion?
Hands down my passion is writing. After all, I have been doing this on and off for twelve years. Lord knows I have tried to give it up many, many times. My head bursts with stories and I find myself daydreaming during important meetings where I should be paying rapt attention. Yep, definitely a passion.
What is your favorite time of year?
My favorite time of year is fall. Not just because it’s my birthday, but because it is starting to get cooler and people begin to venture out of their houses after being caged by the blistering hot summer days (I live in the south, so you can imagine how it feels with the humidity…).
I love the smell of cinnamon filling the air from pumpkin pies and hot nuts. I love the anticipation of the coming holidays. And I love the sense of closure fast approaching. This usually encourages me to kick my goals into high gear if I want to see them accomplished before the end of the year. Very motivating.
What is your favorite time of day?
Mornings. I like getting up before everyone else. That is ME time. Some days I get a bunch of things done. Other times I struggle to get out of bed. But this is the time of day when I can truly connect with myself.
What is your favorite physical activity?
I would say running, but I loathe running. Although running happens to be the best way for me to get into shape. I ran when I was in high school and since then, there is a constant love/hate relationship between us. I have found that listening to recoded workshops or books on tape really help keep me moving.
What is your favorite vacation?
Usually the most recent one I’ve taken. Just last month hubby and I returned from 5 days in Vegas. We were celebrating our 21st anniversary and only the second grown-up vacation we’ve taken without The Kid. It was exhilarating. I zip lined under the Freemont Street lights, attended a sexy burlesque type Cirque Du Soleil show, jammed with the Blue Man Group, got creaped out by the Bodies Exhibit, took a gondola ride down the Venetian’s in-door river, dropped a load of money at Hover Damn, and walked my legs off going in and out of just about every casino and hotel on the strip. LOVED IT!

And that’s it for now. Hopefully I can keep up with things going forward but I’m not promising my first born.
Thanks a ton Deirdra and Hildie!!!
