The first week of my 52 Week Challenge started off really slow. Why? Because I’ve been sick all week. NOT FUN….
I knew I had to do something to get this started, but what could I do when I was running a 102 degree fever and stuffed up so badly my head felt like it was going to explode?
There was not much that I could do. So, I compromised with myself. The last time I had a bathtub big enough to take a bubble bath in was five years ago when I lived in Wyoming. Even then, I had too many ‘irons in the fire’ and I had a tough time making myself relax for an extended period of time. Not even a good book could keep me in the tub for more than 15 or 20 minutes.
With that in mind, I decided to take the plunge. In this new house, I have a huge jetted bath tub; big enough for two people….wink, wink… Knowing I had to step out of my comfort zone, I grabbed a book, a kitchen timer and a glass of 7up. Hey, I’m on Nyquil… I didn’t think a glass of wine with the cold meds was a good idea.
I started off with the idea of sitting in there for an hour. One measly little hour. How hard could it be?
Let me tell you, it was tough. I don’t know how my mom does it. (note – my mom can sleep in the bath tub…. all night long….. How???) BUT – with that said – it was also kind of nice, too. I used a Eucalyptus bubble bath and by the end of that hour, I was feeling pretty clear headed. I went to bed that night feeling much more relaxed and even a tad bit energized.
Of course, this wasn’t the idea I had for starting off the year long challenge, but life is all about compromise. I’m learning to go with flow.
Did anyone else have something new they added to their week?

Thanks, Walt… I hope it goes well.
Yep, I still cringe everytime I think about it. AND she still does this today. Scares the heck out of me….
