I’m feeling a tad bit old right now. The Kid went on his first date this past week. A Valentine’s Day dance. I sure wasn’t ready for this, but life has a habit of going on even if you aren’t ready for it.
Yesterday we had an amazing all day snacky day at work. I brought in a Cream Cheese Danish dish, but also partook of some chocolate covered strawberries, fruit dipped in the chocolate fountain, chocolate cake and various other treats. I will definitely have to kick up the exercise routine a bit to work off all that.
I didn’t get any flowers or candy from my Valentine, but I did get a new car this past weekend and we closed on some land we are getting ready to relocate to. So I’m not going to complain. Before anyone thinks I’m spoiled, I just want to point out that we are doing a major overhaul on our finances and reevaluating our priorities. I’ve blogged about our Reevaluation journey over at the Petit Fours and Hot Tamales blog this past month and plan to expand on what all we’ve been doing throughout this coming year over on that blog. My next Reevaluation post goes live March 1st and I’m blogging about the budget and what The Kid really thinks of all this change.
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and LOVE holiday. I know mine has certainly been memorable. Until next time, have a GREAT DAY!

~~Update~~~ Have to change this to YES I did get tulips and a box of chocolates from my Valentines. Wasn’t expecting those and something that was a last minute surprise late when we finally arrived home after a busy, busy day…grin… LOVE IT!

Hi Tami,
It sounds like you had a wonderful day; glad your sweetheart came through with the flowers and chocolate. 😉 I will look forward to your next reevaluation; you guys are really shaking up the dust!
Pam
Thanks Pam! Definitely shaking up the dust. Perfect analogy, too. I’ll explain more in a future post, but it is definitely fitting for what we’ve been doing.
Thanks for commenting!!!
