I’ve spent a good bit of time these past two weeks reading through Dianna Love and Mary Buckham’s Break Into Fiction book.
.
This week, I typed up the first template (Characters) and have input the information I have for the three main characters in my story, Re-Do. I’ve only just started the next template (Conflict) and I’ve started rewriting the first twenty pages of the book (unfortunately, I only have about 70 completed, so this isn’t too big of a hardship).
.
I found a really neat Excel spreadsheet when I visited the Happy Endings Blog a few weeks ago and read author, Laurie Ryan’s post about a spreadsheet she uses to track her writing stats. She adapted a spreadsheet she got from Kresley Cole’s Forum and was wonderful enough to share it with us. I LOVE this spreadsheet! If you think you might want a copy, check out her post here and shoot her an e-mail. As soon as I received the spreadsheet from Laurie, I immediately started tracking my writing stats and was surprised at how much information it tells me. AND it is very user friendly, so yes, that means those who are not all that adept at Excel can easily use it. Laurie Ryan is doing a series of these neat posts the first Thursday of every month. I can’t wait to see what she blogs about next.
.
Besides Re-Do, I’ve also started my short story for the Petit Fours and Hot Tamales October Treasure Hunt. I’ll let you know closer to the time when my date is scheduled to post it. To give you a little teaser here, I’m writing my first vampire story. Of course, it’s my take on vampires, so I hope you’ll like it.
.
I’m also helping out my friend, Maxine, by critiquing a few chapters of her story. I have to tell ya that I really like it. I hope you get to see more of her and her books one day.
.
That’s it on the writing side of life. I hope to have a bunch more to blog about next Wednesday.
.
Until then.
