Hello, Weekenders! 👋📖
If you’re anything like me, shopping for a reader is either incredibly easy… or surprisingly hard. Because yes, we love books—but we also love all the little things that make reading even cozier, more fun, and just a bit more magical. The mugs ☕, the blankets 🛋️, the candles 🕯️, and the bookmarks we swear we’ll never lose (and somehow still do 🤣).
Long before I became a writer, I was a reader. So when I put together this list, I had fellow book lovers in mind—the ones who stay up way too late turning pages 🌙📚, carry a book everywhere “just in case,” and firmly believe there’s no such thing as too many reading accessories.
Whether you’re shopping for a fellow reader, building your own wish list 🎁, or casually forwarding hints to someone who needs gift ideas 😉, you’ll find plenty of reader-approved inspiration here.
So grab your current read, get comfy, and let’s talk bookish gifts! 📚✨
(And yes… you may want a few of these for yourself. 😄)
💡 A Quick Note Before We Start
If you’re interested in where I purchased many of these items, you’ll find them in my Tami Brothers’ Favorite Things Amazon Store. 🛍️
My original plan was to link directly to each item I purchased. Unfortunately, many of them sold out, disappeared, or were replaced by newer versions. Sometimes I also discovered dozens of similar options worth sharing.
Creating a single store solved that problem—and honestly, it’s become one of my favorite places to collect all the fun reader, writer, and travel finds I stumble across. 😊
Trust me when I say there are a lot of wonderful options out there. And the best part? I can keep adding new discoveries whenever I find them. 📚✈️☕✨

Now let’s jump into the first of what will probably be many posts featuring my favorite reader goodies! 🎉📖
📚 1. A Bookish Mug (Because Coffee {or tea} Is a Reading Requirement)
From “Just One More Chapter” to “I Like Big Books,” book-themed mugs are a reader staple. Perfect for coffee, tea, or whatever keeps the pages turning late into the night.
I love a fun cup, so much so that I’ve had to donate a bunch when we downsized for our move to the DC area. It was heartbreaking, but I really did cut it down to just the ones I really, really wanted. And even now, when I find one I can’t live without, I know I have to donate one of the others. So, I try to be very choosy with these purchases. 😊

👉 Note: [You can find this cup at the link I share at the bottom of the page. But for those who noticed the tea I’m drinking, definitely check out Abbi’s Teas. She is a small business located in the Outer Banks. These teas are delicious, and I stock up every time we visit. 😊 https://www.abbiteas.com/]
🕯 2. Literary or Reading-Themed Candles
Nothing sets the mood like a candle that smells like a cozy bookstore, a beach read, or “old books and secrets.” Bonus points if it crackles.
Candles are another purchase I tend to go overboard with. But when I’m traveling, I can’t help but grab something that reminds me of where I’ve been. I also use them for specific scents when I’m in my writing zone. Check out the Dirty Martini candle I bought and burn every time I’m writing one of my more spicier stories (written under another pen name 😉).

📖 3. A Book Sleeve or Protective Book Pouch
For readers who toss books into purses, beach bags, or carry-ons, a padded book sleeve is both practical and pretty.
I use mine, not only for books, but I also throw in my ReMarkable tablet and even my Kindle. These sleeves are great when I’m traveling and need to pull out my electronics. I can add them all into this one sleeve for a quick removal, and it keeps everything together in one place.

For anyone wondering what a ReMarkable is, this is my very favorite thing for writing!!! I love the way I can handwrite notes, then tap a button, and it transcribes that into text to add to my documents.

🔖 4. Fun or Magnetic Bookmarks
Bookmarks that don’t fall out = elite reader energy. 😎📚
I LOVE bookmarks. 😊 I have them tucked into books I’ve started, books I’ve finished, notebooks I use for writing, planners, and even work materials. They’re one of my favorite little gifts to slip into birthday cards or care packages because they’re inexpensive, practical, and fun.
Let’s be honest—can a reader ever really have too many bookmarks? I don’t think so. 😂📖

🛋 5. A Reading Pillow or Lap Pillow or a Kindle / E-Reader Stand
Once you’ve read with a pillow designed for books or one designed for your e-reader, there’s no going back. Perfect for couch reading, bed reading, or “I’ll just read for 10 minutes” reading.
I will admit I have had a couple of different reading pillows. This one was a gift from my granddaughter, and bonus, it has its own little pocket to slide the book into. 😊 I also know many people who have multiple different e-reader stands. Not only for physical comfort, but also to help with the level and angle for their eyes. Big win here.
Seriously, there are so many different ones to choose from. It is almost as hard as choosing that one book to read. 😊

🧦 6. Cozy Reading Socks
Soft, warm socks with sayings like “If You Can Read This, Bring Me a Book” are basically required attire for reading days. 📚❄️
This is another favorite of mine. I am perpetually cold and can often be found wearing fuzzy socks—even in the middle of summer. 😂☀️
You really can’t go wrong gifting a reader a pair (or three!) of cozy reading socks. They’re practical, comfortable, and perfect for curling up with a good book and ignoring the rest of the world for a while. 📖💙
Quick note: I used a picture of my new writing socks because a friend just sent them to me. 😊

💙 A Little Note From Me
Reading isn’t just a hobby—it’s comfort, escape, adventure, friendship, and sometimes exactly what we need after a long day. 💙📚 The best reader gifts aren’t flashy… they’re thoughtful, cozy, and say I see you.
If you’re shopping for a reader this season (or anytime, really), you truly can’t go wrong with any of these.
Happy reading—and happy gifting. 📚✨
