El Chavo Mango and Habanero Hard Cider Review

Oh man! This cider has a BITE!

I LOVE the idea of this. I LOVE habanero peppers and this drink really hits all my fun favorites.

I wasn’t sure what to think at first. The very first sip had a slight burn. But the more you drink, the sweetness peeks through the burn. It’s not too sweet, but it is sweet enough to counterbalance the slight burn. I could feel it on my tongue from the very first sip. And, strangely enough, I liked the feel of the burn on the back of my throat. 

I can taste a little of the mango, but more so the apples. I tried this drink several times to see if I could get a better layout of the apples vs mango. Each time, the habanero stands out far more. But the sweetness from the apples and mango goes nicely with that heat. 

I will be perfectly honest. I love this cider. I love the heat. I love the light sweetness. I also love that it takes me a little bit longer to drink and I am able to enjoy it a little more than some of the other ciders that I find I drink fairly quickly. 

My son and his new wife (the two just got married this past weekend) love this, too. I bought the drink to do this review and ended up not having enough the first go-round to do an adequate taste test. I've already been back to grab more and will be heading back for a third round. :)

Definitely TWO (or in our case, SIX) thumbs up!
