What more could a girl do?
How about listening to a fabulous Young Adult (YA) book based on the Outer Banks. :)
The author, McCall Hoyle, did a great job with this angsty story about teenage love and getting to know each other while surviving a hurricane.
When Finn stood Sophie up for her first-ever dance her Freshman year, Sophie had no idea how much her life would change before she saw him again. During their time apart, a car accident left her older sister with a debilitating brain injury and fractured her parent’s marriage. Sophie was left to keep the remaining pieces of her family intact, along with trying to keep the family business afloat.
Now it’s summer before her senior year of school. Finn is back in town. And the Outer Banks is about to be hit by a major hurricane.
When Sophie and Fin are not able to evacuate with the rest of the town, they find a way to ride out the storm together. But will they make it out as friends, or go their separate ways?
Fast-paced.
Full of edge-of-your-seat action.
A great opportunity to dig in deep to the reasons some people do what they do.
I loved this story and couldn’t wait to see how it ended. I was rooting for the young couple from the very beginning. But Ms. Hoyle added in a few twists I didn’t see coming. Love it when an author can do that to me. Definitely grab this book, or the audio version like I did, and give it a read. You won’t be disappointed.
And for those who read The Thing With Feathers by McCall Hoyle, we see a cameo from Emilee. :)
I was actually able to attend one of the book signings for The Thing With Feathers. Was such a cool experience. For those who happen to live near their favorite authors, definitely try to attend one of these. Not only does it help support the author, but the amazing vibes you get when you are a part of that team is truly an amazing experience. https://amzn.to/2KV6CP4
Enjoy!
