I like my tea or coffee HOT! HOT! HOT!
Sometimes I like it ice cold, or even frozen. But I cannot finish the drink when it is semi-warm or cool. Just no.
Because my main preference is hot coffee, I’ve tried many different things to keep that perfect temperature. I’ve bought multiple brands of those desk-top coffee mug heaters. I think they now sell them as candle wax warmers, too. None of those worked for me. They just didn’t keep the mug hot enough.
I’ve tried the mug you plug into the car charger. That didn’t work either.
I’ve bought tons of different insulated cups and mugs, to include the Yeti brand. To be honest, Yeti did keep my drink hot longer than any of the others. But just like the others, it cooled off much quicker than I had hoped.
I want to clarify here, that when I'm relaxing and not focused on my writing business or the day job, I can usually drink the whole cup before it gets too cool. But those moments are super rare. If I'm focused on something, I simply do not drink it fast enough. I then end up heating up what I have left in the microwave (after pouring it into a microwavable cup - hence dirtying more than one cup). I have been known to do this five or six times on one single cup of coffee. Or I waste part of it by having to pour it down the drain. Either is not ideal. But we all know how much coffee can cost when we buy it from a coffee shop and I definitely don’t want to waste a drop.
Last year I saw the Ember cup on sale at one of those coffee shops. Because of the cost and not knowing if it would work, I didn’t buy it. But I did put it in my “wish list” basket on Amazon. Fast forward to this Christmas when my husband was looking for present ideas. Just my luck, the Ember cup happened to be on sale. :)
Yay me!
As soon as I opened the present I washed the cup, plugged it in, charged the battery, and then brewed a cup of Mocha Macadamia-nut coffee. Then started sipping. Wow!!! The liquid stayed hot right up until the last drop.
After reading more of the paperwork inside the box, I found I could download the Ember app, sync my cup to my phone, then I was able to change the color of the charging light AND increase the heating temperature. I quickly bumped this puppy up to 140 degrees. Again, my coffee stayed MY perfect temperature all the way to the last drop.
This picture is from when I first poured the coffee.
This is almost an hour later.
It stays hot!
Bonus for me - another cool feature is the light that lets me know when I need to recharge my cup. :) :) :)
Needless to say, I'm a HUGE fan of the Ember cup. It's super easy to wash, easy to charge, and I think its pretty. :) And now that I know how well it works, I've added the 12 oz Ember travel mug to my wish list.
Do you think my husband will take the hint for a birthday present???
