I had surgery on Thursday the 20th and was ‘forced’ to sit and relax the best I could for at least a week and a half. For me, this is something that is VERY hard to do because I have a ton of stuff going on (don’t we all….).
As an incentive to keep my part of the bargain with my doctor, I decided this would be the perfect time to break out a series of books I’ve had for a few months. I’ve put off reading the series because they are fairly long stories and I know that I’m the type of person who can’t stop once I get started. I have to say that it worked, for three days anyway. That was the amount of time it took me to devour the four books in
Stephenie Meyer’s series;
Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.
The stories start out with 17 year-old, Bella Swan, moving to the small town of Forks Washington to live with her father. She catches the eye and appetite of fellow student, Edward Cullen, on the first day of school and the story just keeps going from there. So much happens that I can’t even fit it all in. I can only say that you HAVE to read them! It’s almost a life and death experience.
This was an awesome tale about young love and a happily-ever-after that defies the decades. Although each book ended with a satisfying ending that tied up that particular story, I swiftly moved onto the next book because I couldn’t bear to be away from the fictional world that
Ms. Meyer so brilliantly created. I was literally mesmerized (or dazzled as Bella says) with every aspect of the world and the characters. This series will definitely take its place among my top favorites; right next to
JK Rowling’s, Harry Potter Series and
Gillian Summer’s, The Faire Folk Series. Definitely a MUST READ!!!!
