Woohoo! I love “Floats”! And a Hard Apple Cider Float - WOWZA!
Ok, full disclosure here. I wish I had discovered this drink at the beginning of summer. It would have been an awesome featured drink for one of our parties. And I could have swapped out the hard apple cider for regular apple cider for the kids (and left out the whiskey, of course). We are DEFINITELY going to revisit this recipe again next summer.
I found the recipe on the Total Wine & More site when I was looking at other recipes and got sidetracked with their awesome YouTube video tutorials. :)

-Sweet, refreshing
-Creamy - as the ice cream blends with the hard apple cider, you get a cream soda-like taste (LOVE IT!)
-Hint of cinnamon
-JUST PLAIN FUN TO DRINK!
I LOVED this float. I truly enjoy the occasional Coke float (or in my case, Diet Coke). And I LOVE an ice-cold Root Beer float. But I admit that this Hard Apple Cider Float is now my all-time favorite!
Hard Apple Cider Float
-1 oz Cinnamon Whiskey
-8 oz Hard Apple Cider
-2 Scoops Vanilla Ice Cream
-Whipped Cream (I like the canned cream best)
-Caramel Sauce
-Dash of ground Cinnamon
-Sliced apple for garnish
1) Mix cinnamon whiskey and hard apple cider in a shaker with ice. (note - don’t shake or you will have a volcanic eruption. Just do a few tilts, but be prepared for any eruptions.)
2) Pour into a glass (I prefer one with a handle. Makes it MUCH easier to hold).
3) Scoop in ice cream.
4) Top with whipped cream.
5) Drizzle with caramel sauce and a dash of cinnamon. I actually poured some over my apple slice and ate that as a caramel apple. :)
6) Enjoy, because it really is amazing!
Cheers!
