I’m fairly new to the golf world (just getting involved over the past 5 years). My husband and oldest son love the sport. In fact, hubby and I vacation each year with a group of friends my husband was stationed with (Air Force) several decades ago. We call ourselves the Debauchery Tour and head out each year to explore a different part of the US and golf the week away.
(Note: I don’t actually golf… But I do enjoy riding around in the cart and hanging with hubby and/or our friends)
Although hubby and I can be found on the course most weekends, once a year we venture to Atlanta to watch the PGA Tour FedEx Cup at East Lake Golf Club.

Although we have attended several tournaments over the years, this one has quickly become our favorite. Not only do we see some of the best golfers around, but we have a wonderful family day enjoying a common sport that both my husband and oldest son love.
My first tour trip was in 2016 (with our oldest). It was HOT. HOT. HOT.
That year(2016), Rory McIlroy was the winner. https://www.pgatour.com/fedexcup/winners.html

In 2017, we again met up with our oldest. Not as hot, but it was still pretty warm.
We had a great time. I LOVE the Veterans tent and how nice it is to drop in and cool off at various times throughout the day. Everyone there is so welcoming and there is always water, sodas, and snacks.
That year, Justin Thomas was the 2017 tour champion. https://www.justinthomasgolf.com/
In 2018, our oldest brought his girlfriend. Ignore the fact that he and I are both wearing the same outfit as the year before… I’m sure we just loved those colors… :)
That year, Justin Rose was the 2018 tour champion. https://www.justinrose.com/
This year, 2019, we took another couple with us and (again) met oldest at the course.
We had a great time.
The weather was MUCH better this year. In fact, I am super happy I brought a long-sleeve shirt to wear at various times throughout the day. Last year I discovered the Grey Goose 19th Hole. Along with the Veterans tent, this was another great place to hang out and cool off (I will definitely be seeking it out for future tournaments). We had an exceptional view of the 12th green (and the 18th tee and 17th green). We spent a very nice hour hanging out here watching the players go by.
This year (2019), Rory McIlroy again won the tour championship. http://www.rorymcilroy.com/
As much as I love hanging out with hubby, oldest, and our friends just doing our regular golfing thing; it’s nice to see how professional these guys (and gals) are. I haven’t seen anyone (player or fan) be disrespectful. I’m sure there are those moments… But my experience has been extremely pleasant.
Check back often for more of my golfing adventures. :)
Cheers!
