Tami’s Jack O’Lantern (Cream) Dream Recipe

Yummo! With Halloween just a few days away, I went in search of some fun holiday drink recipes.  Actually, I didn’t have to search very much. I’d received the Total Wine & More newsletter in my e-mail in-box and they had a link to some of their seasonal drinks. Trust me when I say it is worth being on their mailing list.

We picked up the ingredients and Hubby whipped together this super refreshing cocktail. I’m not kidding when I say this Jack O’Lantern Cream (Total Wine & More’s name and recipe) is smooth! So I’m calling my version of it - Tami’s Jack O’Lantern Dream. 

-Sweet, but not overly sweet 

-Refreshing, sparkling

-Creamy orange flavor

-So smooth it could definitely be dangerous :)

-Plus there is the yummy snack at the end (I love oranges)

We took these drinks outside by the pool while we burned down some of our yard debris. The weather in Georgia is just cool enough to enjoy the fire but warm enough that this sparkling cold drink is still very refreshing. 

I’m definitely in the mood for Halloween now. :)

Tami’s Jack O’Lantern Dream

-1 and 1/2 oz white rum

-1/2 oz Triple Sec

-3.0 oz Orange Cream Soda

-Ice

-Squeeze of lime juice

-Grapefruit or orange, a lime wedge for garnish 

1) Mix the rum, triple sec, orange cream soda and ice together in a shaker. Be super careful here as the orange cream soda makes this very difficult to shake without creating a volcanic eruption. 

2) Pour into a glass with (more) ice. 

3) Squeeze a wedge of lime juice into the drink (Tami’s secret ingredient).

4) Garnish with a slice of orange or a slice of grapefruit (my glasses were small, so the orange almost didn’t fit). Then for decorative purposes, add the wedge of lime in to create the pumpkin stem. 

Trick-or-treat. I prefer this yumtastic treat. Such a great idea to serve at a fun Halloween gathering. Or any other time of the year.
