Savannah Georgia is filled with incredible history. There is so much to do and see in this wonderful city. My husband and I love to travel here every so often for a weekend getaway to immerse ourselves in the wonder of it all.
On top of that, the food is amazing. There are places that everyone insists you have to eat and/or drink at. Then there are places you just stumble upon by accident. I’ve listed below six stumbled upon places, broken down into Breakfast, Lunch, and Drinks. These are all places that we just really liked (and you can see by some of the pictures that we like them a LOT - hence the many times we have visited over the year).
1) Funky Brunch Cafe
https://www.thefunkybrunchcafe.com/home
During one of our Savannah weekends, my husband and I found this place by accident when doing a breakfast search on our Maps App. I loved this place as soon as I saw the bright colors that are literally everywhere!
I chose the Flippin Funky At The Table pancakes. This was a super fun experience because we were able to choose from a number of different add-ins and toppings AND we got to make our own pancakes at this cool griddle in the middle of our table. How fun is that?
I also had the fabulous Funky Bread. If you like sweet, gooey bread… You will LOVE this version.
My husband had his normal breakfast, but I loved the biscuits and gravy he so graciously shared with me. :) It did break up all the sweet stuff I had ordered.
2) Two Cracked Eggs (also does lunch)
https://twocrackedeggscafe.com/
OMG! This was another place we stumbled upon when searching our Maps App for a breakfast place.
I was searching out a breakfast (Berry) Mimosa and hubby was looking for a Bloody Mary. We were sooo not disappointed with this delightful place.
We have been back many times and each time the food is incredible. I, of course, tend to get the Crab Cakes Benedict. But hubby has gotten several different things and each time we have loved them all.
Note: This place fills up fast! If you are okay with being there first thing in the morning, you will be in luck. We have not been able to try out their lunches yet because we haven’t found the sweet spot on timing that. I did notice on their website they have opened up a second location. I’m hopeful that will make a difference.
3) Treylor Park
https://www.treylorpark.com/savannah
A friend told us about this fun place when we were looking for something different. I’d not heard of it before and might not have seen it when we were driving around. It’s tucked in-between some other stores and the name might not have drawn me as a food source. But I’m glad he insisted we give it a try.
This is a fun, contemporary restaurant known for its quality menus, specialty drinks, and ice-cold draft beers served in their outside beer garden. We were definitely not disappointed. I immediately tried one of their specialty drinks, the Fall Spice Margarita. Yum! I am going to try to recreate this drink when I get home.
Lunch was also incredible. I had an amazing BLT on Toasted Brioche (recommended by my friend and melt-in-your-mouth amazing).
Hubby had the Bacon Cheeseburger Tacos. Trust me when I say these are off-the-charts good.
Yummo! We have to come back. The hard part is knowing we liked what we originally had and forcing ourselves to try something new…
4) Vinnie VanGoGo’s (also great for dinner and midnight snacks)
Okay, you can probably tell that Vinnie’s is one of our favorite spots in Savannah.
This is one of the best places that we have found to grab a (huge) slice of pizza while sitting outside watching life happen around you.
Vinnie VanGoGo’s is an icon in Savannah. They sell full New York style pizza pies or you can grab a (huge) slice, along with salads and calzones. With some of our favorite beers on tap, we never miss a stop at Vinnie’s when we are in town.
Our go-to is a slice (or two). We have been there for lunch, dinner, and that oh-so-necessary midnight snack.
Fun note - We have driven a bit out of our way on a trip back from the Outer Banks so we could stop at Vinnie’s for a slice of pizza for lunch. Trust me when I say it was soooo worth those extra miles. :)
5) Wet Willies

I love the fact that you can grab an alcoholic to-go drink at most restaurants in Savannah and sip while you walk around town. This is truly an experience. One of my favorite stops is Wet Willies.
You know, the grown-up slushy place (meaning lots of alcohol in their slushy drinks). I’ve been known to grab one of those to go and take it down to Vinnie’s to drink with my slice of pizza.
They are very cool about letting you sample the different flavors. But my go-to mix when I stop is the White Russian and Banana mix. I don’t know that it has a name, but a lady got this one during my second trip and I had to try it. I have ordered it ever since.
Side note - They do serve food. We haven’t had a chance to sit down and eat here, but their menu does look pretty good.
6) Savannah Smiles Dueling Piano Bar
https://www.savannahsmilesduelingpianos.com/
This is a MUST ADD to your Savannah To-Do list. My husband took me here on our first Savannah weekend.
The place was packed! It was standing room only, but well worth it to stand and listen to the various players (they change out every so often to allow the players a break).
Such a cool experience. The audience is able to write down a song recommendation. Then they bring it up with a tip and the players are super great at figuring them out. I don’t think anyone was stumped while we were there.
The drinks were good and cold. And they have a menu of snack type food. You will definitely find yourself sitting and listening to music for hours.
These are just a few of the different places. I know it doesn’t put a dent in the Savannah food and drink options, but it is a fun start. I highly recommend you check out one or all of them on your next visit. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
Cheers!
Tami

Hey Jeanne! Thanks so much for stopping by. If you are able to make it to Savannah, let me know what things you did. I love learning about new places!
I’m glad y’all enjoyed yourselves but next time I hope you dig a little deeper since I feel you really missed everything great that’s in Savannah.
Hey Melissa! I fully agree. There are a ton of different places in Savannah that are amazing. And I definitely plan to explore and write about them. These were from our very first visits and places that we found via Google searches. I have since asked for recommendations from others who have been to Savannah and received a few options. If you have any recommendations I would greatly appreciate them. I can’t wait to get back there and try out some new places.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I do appreciate it.
Tami
